After completing section two of my research paper (international basketball's effect on the NBA Draft process), I left the house...
Diamondbacks just turned a double play. Shucks.
...because I had to pick up Brittany from Kim Wells' house. I got up, giving no consideration to my appearance, because anyone concerned with their appearance when they're going to be behind the wheel of a vehicle the entire time they are out needs to be straightened up quickly.
So there I was, standing outside in my academic team t-shirt with nothing else on but Lauren's ponytail holder, my glasses, and a pair of ball shorts that I'd noticed a few moments before I'd had on backwards since I'd gotten home, since the pockets were turned away from me. I'd stopped to pee in the yard - because I'm the kind of man that doesn't care to pee in his yard.
It was tonight that I realized that somehow, my dog Snaps and I are kindred spirits. As I was releasing my liquid waste upon the grass near my dad's blue truck, Snaps popped out from underneath it and ran over to me, ushering in some fanciful tactics on my part to avoid striking him with human urine.
Then it happened. He hunched over one of the stepping stones in the yard adjacent to me and began peeing on it - right there beside of me. I looked in astonishment, and he gazed back with that goofy puppy stare. You know, the one that says "I'm doing something disgusting and yet you can't help but smile at me cause I'm so cute." That look.
And so, I took Snaps with me when I left to get Brittany. Together, we observed a beautiful, bright night sky filled with heat lightning as we passed through route 292. Together, we rode up the hellish driveway that exists at Kim's abode. Together, we let our manes blow in the wind (well, my mane and his fur).
And for one moment that will forever live on in my memory as quite possibly the strangest moment in my life, and a signature event that has convinced me that the world cannot be prepared for in any manner, together, we pissed.
Batman, AWAY!!!
